The book’s owner generates a QR code or link. No account details are embedded in it. Anyone who scans it can join and start contributing straight away, and the owner can remove anyone from the book at any time.

Nobody overwrites anybody.
Only one person edits a given spread at a time. Everyone else sees who it is, live, so two people never collide on the same page. If someone disconnects mid-edit, the spread frees up automatically.
A running history of who did what.
Every contribution is recorded. Who joined, who added a photo, who edited text. If the book’s owner removes a collaborator, their access ends but their contributions and this history stay exactly as they were.
